The first rigid frame beam of the EPC general contracting project for scrap stockyard dust control of the Tianjin Pipe Co., Ltd. was successfully hoisted

In the early spring, it is still chilly and cold, but the construction site of the scrap yard is full of cranes which are bustling with activities. At 11:08 am on February 13th, the hoisting ceremony for the first rigid frame beam of the EPC general contracting project of the steel scrap stockyard dust control project (workshop) of Tianjin Pipe Co., Ltd., contracted by SDM was held as scheduled.

 

The project manager, Mr. Wang Fuchang, presided over the hoisting ceremony, and the vice plant manager of the steelmaking plant of Tianjin Pipe, Mr. Wang Chao announced the formal hoisting. The heads of the equipment department, safety and environmental department, steel making plant, furnace burden department and other departments of the construction unit attended this ceremony.

The dust control project of the Tianjin Pipe scrap stockyard is an unconventional industrial renovation project. During the bidding stage, with the joint efforts of Tianjin Division and Steel Structure Architecture Consulting Design and Research Institute, creative proposal was proposed to wrap the square tube lattice four limb steel columns around the original concrete trestle columns, and to pass the steel columns through the existing crane beams to minimize the on-site reinforcement and renovation workload, effectively avoiding the uncertain factors of reinforcement and renovation. This not only ensures structural safety and investment economy, but also avoids the various restrictions in the bidding documents, and finally won the bid successfully with the scores of first place in the commercial bid and the technical bid.

After the start of the project, the project department ingeniously combined the construction drawings with the actual situation on site, aiming to ensure the integrity and independent operation of the original trestle system, and overcome multiple key and difficult renovation points. For example, the existing short column of the cushion cap and the steel column are used for on-site reinforcement through the brake plate, the diagonal member goes through the web of the crane beam and avoids obstacles such as cable tray, and the large-span roof truss beam is hoisted out of the span. Plan each node in advance to fully implement the design idea during site construction, achieving structural safety, reliable quality, controllable progress, and economic rationality.

The smooth hoisting of the first rigid frame beam officially bring about the commencement of the installation of the steel structure, marking the smooth entry of the on-site steel structure installation into the flow process stage, which cannot be separated from the help and support of company leaders and colleagues.
