Recently, the project "Integration and Application of New Green and High-Efficiency Large-Volume Ramming Coke Oven Equipment Technology" completed by Shandong Province Metallurgical Engineering Co., Ltd. won the first prize of the Shandong Province Metallurgical Science and Technology Progress Award.
The integration and application of new green, high-efficiency, large-volume stamping coke oven equipment technology is another significant achievement in the exclusive cooperation between SDM and Italian PW Company in customized research and development of coke ovens. This research is oriented towards the green, low-carbon, ultra-low emission, energy-saving, low-consumption, intelligent, and high-efficiency coking industry, with a focus on long-lasting furnace bodies. Based on advanced simulation methods for coke ovens, it integrates rigorous and long-lasting advanced technologies for coke oven body structure, improving the tightness of the oven body, avoiding leakage, enhancing the strength of the oven body, and extending its service life. It also integrates source control of nitrogen oxides, process control of nitrogen oxides, and low-consumption coking technology, optimizing the design of the coke oven body and heating system to ensure uniform heating in both the longitudinal and transverse directions of the coke oven. This fundamentally reduces the production of nitrogen oxides, improves the thermal efficiency of the coke oven, and reduces the heating energy consumption of the coke oven. When using mixed gas for heating, the concentration of nitrogen oxides in the fume before denitration treatment is controlled below 150mg/m3. When using coke oven gas for heating, the emission concentration of nitrogen oxides before denitration treatment is controlled below 300mg/m3. According to the performance acceptance report, when using coke oven gas for heating, the standard heat consumption for coking in Henan Liyuan SWDJ625-1 type stamping coke oven is 2233.65kJ/kg, and in Shanxi Min Guang SWDJ673-3 type stamping coke oven, it is 2214.68kJ/kg. Both coke ovens achieve super-grade oven levels in terms of coking energy consumption. The development of smoke-free coal charging technology enables comprehensive treatment and clean production of smoke dust throughout the entire production process of stamping coke ovens. The research and development of key technologies for coke oven process equipment have solved the current problems of high coking energy consumption, high environmental protection operating costs, and short oven body lifespan, enabling enterprises to save energy, increase efficiency, operate greenly, reduce operating costs, and improve production safety and stability. At the same time, a smart system for the entire coking chain has been established. Through the research and application of intelligent systems such as the coking big data platform, production management system, energy control system, one-click coking system, and 3D visualization system for the production process, enterprises have shifted from experience-driven to data-driven, moving from basic and advanced intelligent factories to excellent and leading intelligent factories, achieving green, less-manned, safe, and intelligent operation.
Previously, "Research and Application of New Green Large-Volume Coke Oven Equipment Technology" won the first prize of the Shandong Metallurgical Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019, and "Research and Application of Unorganized Emission Control System for Large Stamping Coke Oven" won the second prize of the Shandong Metallurgical Science and Technology Progress Award in 2023. The coke oven technology designed by SDM was recognized as one of the "Top Ten Technologies of the World Steel Industry in 2020", included in the "Steel Extreme Energy Efficiency Engineering Capability List (2023 Edition)" by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, and awarded the first prize for coking technology innovation achievements at the 3rd China Coking Industry Science and Technology Conference in 2024. The 6.25m stamping coke oven of Henan Liyuan won the 2022-2023 Luban Prize for Construction Engineering (National Quality Engineering). The 7.3m top charging coke oven of Shandong Steel Rizhao High-Quality Base, the 7.3m top charging coke oven of Valin Xiangsteel, and the 6.73m stamping coke oven of Hebei Xinxing Energy were respectively awarded the first prize for excellent engineering design achievements in the national metallurgical industry. They are advanced representatives of the development towards large-scale, green, and intelligent coke ovens. Generations of SDM people have adhered to the corporate mission of "using advanced technology to open up markets, providing exceptional value to customers; serving owners wholeheartedly and throughout their entire lifecycle", and with their superb technology and innovative spirit, they have carefully built one high-quality project after another and become benchmark enterprises, highly recognized within the industry.
Currently, SDM adopts world-class processes and technologies. Through years of technological accumulation and innovative practice, it has tailored nearly 40 new green, efficient, and intelligent coke ovens for numerous domestic and international steel joint ventures and independent coking enterprises, including Shandong Steel Rizhao, Hunan Valin Xiangsteel, Henan Liyuan Group, Hebei Xinxing Energy, Yunnan Coal Industry, Shanxi Shenglong Taida, Sichuan Dazhou Steel, Shanxi Min Guang, Hebei Xinpengnan, Lingyuan Steel, Yongfeng Lingang, Shanxi Jinxin, and AMNS India. These efforts have resulted in the formation of the SWJ series of large top-charging coke ovens, including models of 7m, 7.3m, and 7.6m, as well as the SWDJ series of large stamp-charging coke ovens, including models of 6.25m, 6.73m, and 7.15m. After commissioning, all these ovens have operated smoothly and achieved excellent operational results, reaching international leading levels in terms of coke oven body, coke oven machinery, process equipment, intelligence, and environmental protection. Taking a stamp-charging coke oven with an annual output of 2 million tons as an example, the annual direct economic benefit is approximately 70 million yuan, with a reduction of approximately 15,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and a decrease of approximately 700 tons of nitrogen oxides. This has high economic, environmental, and social benefits, and serves as a demonstration effect and has broad promotion value for promoting the advancement of coking technology, ultra-low emissions, and clean production in China, as well as enhancing the technological equipment level and upgrading of the coking industry.
The awarding of the first prize of the Shandong Province Metallurgical Science Progress Award is an important manifestation of the comprehensive implementation of the SDM design technology development plan. Looking ahead, the Coking Business Department will continue to deepen the innovation work of new green and efficient coke oven technology, strengthen the cultivation of coking technology achievements, vigorously promote the deep integration of technological innovation and engineering application, fully stimulate the vitality of technological innovation, cultivate innovative talents, gradually improve the level of technology achievement summarization and transformation, create new green and efficient coking pillar products, and provide new impetus for technological innovation to promote the high-quality development of SDM.
