SDM has completed the plant design of the first Hismelt smelting reduction ironmaking project in China. The project was completed and put into operation in 2016, and has now reached its capacity and efficiency.










The main featured technologies are:

Long campaign technology of blast furnace:

     (1)Reasonable furnace profile design;(2)Copper cooling stave is adopted for bosh, belly and lower part of stack of blast furnace, and the technology of sectional transition of cooling stave is adopted;(3)Soft water closed circulation cooling technology;(4)The brick-wall integrated thin-wall furnace lining for complete cooling stave;(5)The temperature field and stress analysis and calculation of cooling stave achieve accurate design;(6)Long campaign life technology of hearth and bottom structure of blast furnace;(7)Perfect furnace proper detection and automatic control, synchronous configuration of blast furnace expert system, which improves the control and management level of furnace conditions.

Improved top combustion HBS technology

       In 2001, SDM was the first to introduce Kalugin top combustion HBS technology into China, and successfully applied it to the production practice of blast furnace after absorption and improvement. It designed the first top combustion HBS in China (3#750m3 Blast Furnace of Laiwu Iron & Steel Group). SDM has 6 invention patents and 7 utility model patents, forming the advanced and reliable top combustion HBS technology with independent intellectual property rights, which is characterized by high blast temperature, low investment and long service life. Its market share reached 40%, ranking first.

BF gas full dry dedusting technology:

       In 2003, the full dry dedusting technology of blast furnace gas was first applied to large & medium-scale blast furnaces of Laiwu Iron & Steel Group, which promoted its wide application in the whole industry. It has the characteristics of less investment, less land occupation and less energy consumption.

BF granular coal injection technology:

       In 2005, the blast furnace granular coal injection technology developed by SDM was successfully applied in the blast furnace of Yinshan Section Steel Co., Ltd. of Laiwu Iron & Steel Group, which solved the problem of blast furnace granular coal injection technology and was the first in China. After the project is put into operation, the operation of blast furnace is stable and smooth, the coke ratio is significantly reduced, the risk of coal injection system is greatly reduced, and the system is more energy-saving.

Compact iron & steel interface technology:

       The molten iron of BF is transported by truck, one ladle throughout to the end, which greatly shortens the transportation distance between iron and steel. It has been applied in Rizhao 5100m3 BF with good results.
