On September 9th, the Shandong Provincial Archives issued a notice on the publication of the ‘Results of the Selection of Innovative Cases in the Province's Archival Business’. Among them, the ‘Construction of Archives Standardization Management System of Metallurgical EPC Project with Economic Benefits as the Core’ declared by SDM was selected as the innovative case of "high-quality development case of archives service enterprises". This case deeply summarizes the experience of several generations of archivists of SDM on the management of general contracting archives in the past 20 years when SDM carried out the general contracting project. In combination with the development needs of the company, the case initially establishes a "standardized management system of metallurgical general contracting project archives with economic benefits as the core".

The construction of this system makes the archive management work incorporate the concept of archive management from the initial stage of each EPC project, defines the responsibility subject and time node of archive collection, sorting and archiving at each stage, ensures that the archive data and project progress are forward synchronously, and avoids the waste of manpower and material resources caused by the later filing. In terms of archive standardization, SDM Information Document Center has formulated a unified standard covering archive classification, numbering, description, retention period and other contents according to the relevant national and industrial specifications and in combination with the characteristics of metallurgical EPC projects, so as to make the archives of different projects consistent and comparable and lay the foundation for efficient use of archives. At the same time, the system focuses on the economic transformation of archives, providing data support for cost control and risk assessment of new projects through data analysis of historical project archives, helping enterprises optimize resource allocation, and enhance project profitability.
