On April 15, the coking chamber shrinkage space modification project for No.6 coke oven at the Ironmaking Plant of Shandong Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. was successfully completed, fulfilling all construction tasks three days ahead of schedule. This project is not only the first coking chamber shrinkage space modification project undertaken by Shandong Province Metallurgical Engineering Co., Ltd, but also marks the company's successful entry into the ranks of the few domestic enterprises that have mastered this modification technology, injecting new momentum into the improvement of coke oven efficiency.

Coke Oven #6 originally had 55 operating coking chambers, and this renovation focused on 21 of them, with the oven maintaining its overall integrity after the work. Following the signing of the project contract, the project team swiftly deployed, facing multiple challenges such as cross-line operations, high-risk gas areas, stable furnace body control, and tight schedules. Under the leadership's overall guidance and the joint efforts of colleagues, adhering to the core goals of "lean service, on-time quality, safety and efficiency," the project team scientifically formulated plans, refined milestones, and precisely controlled quality and safety, steadily forwarding the project construction. The entire team worked day and night, overcoming difficulties, strictly implementing safety controls, and precisely managing construction details. The project was completed on schedule, with guaranteed quality and safety, and passed acceptance inspection.
