On July 31, 2020, the "13th Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Exhibition and Award Ceremony of China Iron and Steel Industry was held in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, and the Shansteel Rizhao Iron and Steel Base Project, which was overall planned and designed by SDM, won the "13th Five-Year Plan" Innovation Engineering Award of Iron and steel industry. Wei Xinmin, chairman of SDM, attended the award ceremony and accepted the award.

The 13th Five-Year Science and Technology Achievement Exhibition of China Iron and Steel Industry is an innovation exhibition of iron and steel industry hosted by China Iron and Steel Industry Association and The Chinese Society for Metals, and sponsored by Metallurgical Industry Information Standard Institute and World Metals. This award was reviewed and approved by experts jointly organized by China Iron and Steel Association, The Chinese Society for Metals and China Metallurgical Construction Association. The award-winning projects show the outstanding achievements made by China's iron and steel industry in the field of scientific and technological innovation during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, presenting the image of China's iron and steel industry with green, intelligent, innovative and high-quality development to the society, and promoting China iron and steel industry to achieve greater breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Winning the "13th Five-Year Plan" Innovation Project Award is the full affirmation of SDM's long-term adherence to the strategy of "focusing on environment friendly, intelligent and green metallurgy ", and a high recognition of SDM 's entry into the first echelon of national metallurgical construction by the iron and steel industry and the mainstream media. SDM will continue to be committed to the greening, intellectualization and high-quality of the iron and steel industry, vigorously promote technological innovation, and make contributions to the greater scientific and technological innovation of China's iron and steel industry during the "14th Five-Year Plan".
